davidwiz
There was announcement yesterday that Bushmaster has licensed the production and marketing rights for the Masada from Magpul. The rifle is now called the Bushmaster ACR. They are anticipating looking to start selling them 2nd Q 2008, pushed back from 1st Q 2008. There should be more info released over the next couple of days at the SHOT Show. Bushmaster press release

Cactustactical
I think this is a positive thing. Magpul is already having issues meeting their current production demand for products. Trying to introduce the build of a full gun on top of their current backlog would have been very difficult.
davidwiz
Any word on price? The word is they are still looking at about $1,400. More details are supposed to be released during the SHOT Show, but so far I haven't seen anything.

Cactustactical
Our Magpul rep said that the price was still in the $1500 range. Given that Magpul is already extended quite a bit meeting their current product demand, this is probably a good thing that Bushmaster is taking over production. As long as BM does not monkey with the concept, of course.
Carlos
Either MagPul or Bushmaster wisely moved the charging handle forward and over the handgaurds - where optics will NOT be in the way.
davidwiz
Another cool thing is that Magpul was committed to selling a semi-auto version from the get-go. According to Larry Vickers, he has been pleading with HK to release their HK416 in a semi-auto version, to no avail. Also, it doesn't seem like FN is going to release their SCAR in a semi-auto version anytime soon either.
