boz1911
Haven't heard of a 31 round mag ever. Are you sure he didn't reload when you weren't looking?

warpspeed
My guess is that it probably won't pass the gauge. Misread the first post - I stand corrected. Edited February 1, 2008 by warpspeed

HSMITH
29 reloadable in an SV is workable in 9mm and Supercomp, my 170 SV mags reload with 29 in them. 30 is REALLY pushing it, clipping springs and widening the neck is needed, a shape more like a Para mag. I would have to see 31 to believe it. 22 in an STI or SV or SPS mag 140 length 40 cal mag? I would have to see it to believe it. I am NOT calling anyone a liar or questioning the credentials of a J Bolen, just saying my experience hasn't conditioned me to believe something like this without seeing it with my own two eyes. Is it possible? Sure, where there is a will there is a way, if the will is strong enough.
AZGunut
Guys, Not to add fuel to the fire but Beven Grams personal use mags hit this number as well. That I know he doesn't do them for anyone but himself.

I don't know if it's possible, but you and I both have the tubes to do it if there's a way, Howard.
GM2885
Well john does my mags and i have 170mm sti`s that hold 30 rds and you can reload to them and i have SV 170mm mag that holds 31...I also have 140mm 40 STI &SV mag that hold 21. Sti is reloadable. I`ve never had a mag failure w/JB tuned mags .And all of them fit in the EGW MAG GUAGE. If you don`t believe it come to the yuma charity match or the DBL TAP match or any other match i`am at. (Don`t forget your mag guage) I`ll have mine. And they are not grams tuned mags. But JB can fix`em up for ya GLENN

Johann the Horrible
One of our shooters her in Port Elizabeth, South Africa has a mag that also goes to 30 something in .38 stupid. I think it has to do with the spring coils fitting flush when compressed and the follower made out of a piece of very thin metal. I also have a .45 mag that takes 17 rounds(with a great amount of effort). The mag gets checked every time I shoot in another Province of a level 3. Several of the top guys also have 20 round mags in 40. The 38 stupid is in Open and my .45 and the 40`s in Standard gun.
