There is another pesky rumor floating about that a skinny little half-mag gun hurt feelings and kissed other people's girlfriends in the San Antonio area this weekend:

The thing managed to finish 4th on two stages, one of which were a field course... who ever heard of such a thing?

I took 6 different brands of handguns to a little introductory firearms safety class Monday night. About 20 people who were going to go to a CHL class and wanted a general overview about handguns. Most of the people did not yet own a handgun.

Of all the guns I took for the people to look at ... the 1911 got far more attention than the others....

There is just something about a 1911..LOL biggrin.gif

And #1 is...

Whenever I bother to note it on the public firing line there are Glocks and Sigs, some S&W, on rare occassions a CZ or Browning HP. But, always a 1911. And guess who is usually the best shot...

At a local match this month someone tried to tell me there was a number past 8... I said, "Yes, '+1'!"

:goof:

Then he uttered a word my mind rejected and has failed to retain. Needless to say it is the word the Knights of John Browning are forbidden to speak.

Respectfully fellow snob, must regretably disagree. There is one time when you can count past 8+1...

When your bride and fellow club member (#67) decides to shoot skinny minor this year "to give my hubby a chance".

The worst part... she won the division shooting minor last match.

With great humility and gentle demeanor, I submit that ultimate snobbery would dictate only .45 and 8+1 is the appropriate count for Knights of John Browning who are without blemish or stain. I am however a fallen creature who has confessed his sins and renounced his youthful lusts. I am forgiven and therefore forgiving, and gracious accept that fellow snob #67 may shoot... 8+1+1+1.

Esteemed Sir...

Your clever turn of phrase is exceptionally enlightening, however, again in my humble defense after 21 years of having not found the way to win any argument and still not stay in the unlit, unheated canine abode, I am forced to aquiece to the highest authority.

(Begin Southern drawl) However, I aint givin up my youthful lusts... that sounds like way too much fun... watch this and hold my beer.

Gentlemen,

Please, I beg of you, let me into your club. I believe this may be the support I need for eternal salvation.

I generally shoot Singlestack but recently shot a plastic demon Block 34. I soon realized the gun had no soul and was trying to steal mine. I was able to fend off this attack and return to the order of JMB but fear without support I may relapse as the serpent in my safe seeks the regain his plastic grasp.

My usual gun is a Dan Wesson Valor, series 70, single sided safety, and in .45.

Help me before I sin again...

I am ready to vote affirmative, however we require proof of having shot in Single Stack division and an image of both sides of you gun are required. Gun porn is scarse, ya know.

I must ask ( and you should check the very first post of this thread for the correct answer to give ); in what Division did you shoot that 34?

Before you make a terrible mistake and allow this ^ traitor in, I have seen him shoot his..... I can't even type the word, but it starts with a G, and he was singing its praises. He even made fun of my JMB designed jewel.

Just thought you should know....

Here is proof of a match... (http://riopractical.com/text/tue_nite120410.pdf) 26th place overall and second place SingleStack

I would like to lie about having shot the evil black gun in production but I just can't lie about that....I shot limited. I feel dirty for having done it and have repented. The plastic gun made me do it but with the help of this board I feel I can overcome.

Here is a pic of the strong side of a different gun. I can get a pic of the DW later...

You are just upset that after I shook off my case of blackgunfever I resumed beating you ;-)

While this guy who calls himself fastluck (we call him Donkey ) has had some indiscretions, I do think he is just the sort of candidate this elite club is looking for. He regularly represents the jmb design honorably. In addition, i have personally heard TGO complement his run. (Although it pains me to admit it)

I am not a voting member, but he would have my vote if I was.

Ps. Where rimcrew lacks in stature, he is more deficient in credibility! Tgo held back no punches when commenting on his match 1911.

Fastluck

I have read the support you have among fellow members, and I am happy you have chosen to submit your application. But...

Your application is not yet complete, as you have shown 1 side of 3 different 1911's. (You do get bonus points for having 3) But... your transgressions into the world of plastic are very worrisome.

Upon submission of a complete application, I should think I will look at it in a favorable light as long as no further transgressions are reported.
