Sidetracker
I'm shooting a XD-40 Tactical(the 5" barrel) in production and need a load for 40s&w to make minor. Either 180 or 200gr bullets.
Steve Anderson
Just enough Clays to work the gun. For the 180, start around 3.2 and work up slow with the chrono. Load to 1.13 or so. Clays in .40 minor is Great! SA
Bucky
I'll have to second Steve's opinion. I just shot the Blackwater IDPA match using a Glock 35. I used 3.2 grains of Clays behind a HAP 180 JHP. It shot as light as most the 9mms I've tried. On one stage the SO told the score keeper to make sure the bullet made it all the way through the paper target. He was quite surprised when I told him I was making a 137 Power Factor.
TRG65
Does clays work as well in the 9mm?
Bucky
I don't think I'd want to try Clays in the 9mm. I know someone who tried it with 115s and they experienced very bad pressure signs way before even making minor.
