tomneal
It's been 8 or 9 years but I ran across a round that looked like a .45 ACP necked down to .223 It looked almost like you could swap the barrel out of a Government model and shoot a new round. Am I remembering a dream or is there such a round? Tom Neal

JFlowers
Okay, working from memory here. Article in Guns and Ammo a long long time ago..... There was a round experimented with after the North Hollywood Shootout that was a 45 ACP necked down onto a 240 teflon coated bullet called the 240 Boz. It was designed to give patrol officer's something that would penetrate body armor without having to carry a rifle. Don't recall if it ever went anywhere. I remember the article said that the round was law enforcement only due to the teflon/armor piercing qualities.

SA Friday
400 Cor-Bon is still floating around out there. It's a 45 ACP necked down and shouldered for a 40 cal bullet.
Kingman
I remember reading something crazy about necking a .45 down. I am not sure if it was .223. I thought it was for the hornet bullet. I will still say my favorite is the 9*25 still have dies, brass and barrel for that.
Larry White
I have several 38 super rounds necked UP to .40. I call them the aggie super 10mm. I have never seen one of those things split or crack a case.-----------Larry

mlmiller1
The 38 Casull is(was?not sure if it is still around) a .45 brass necked down to a 38 bullet. Could it have been that? I shot one once, very respectable round. Shoots flat to 100yds, or close to it, anyway. MLM
HoMiE
I know a guy who has made a couple of those pistols, 224 Boz. He told me it is a pain the the a$$ to size and make the brass to shoot, he would not do it again. But it is a cool looking little round. DMS42
In Bullseye a long time ago there was the .38/45 which was a .45 ACP necked down to take a .38 wadcutter bullet. It worked pretty good.
