MBaban
What is your preference, adjustable or fixed sights for L10/Limited? Is there a big difference is hits when you adjust your load? Do you sight-in at 25 or 50 yards? newbie
JohnL
I shoot L10 with fixed sights. Adjustable sights are really fixed sights that you've set for your prefered distance. You still have to know where your gun shoots at any given distance and adjust your aim point accordingly.
Flexmoney
If this is for your Glock...throw on some Heinie Slant Pro sights and never worry about it again.
MBaban
Yes this is for the 35. I'm leaning towards the Heinies. Thanks.
Duane Thomas
I've kind of done a 180 on this over the years. To start with, I was a fixed sights kinda guy. I'd sight-in the gun with whatever load I carried, and that was it. Then I started shooting competition, and I can't imagine not having adjustable sights. Once you start playing around with different bullet configurations and weights, different powders and charges, you'll find your point of impact varying enough that you absolutely need adjustable sights to synchronzie POI/POA. Jon Merricks
Dawson has a new sight for a glock. I've not used it or know anybody that has but it looks as if it could be a good one. 2nd part 1" high at 25 yards.
MBaban
Thanks for the info, I stopped by a gun tore yesterday and found a decent price on a reloader, now Duane has a point, withdifferent loads in competition, the only thing you have to worry is aligning the fron sight to the target when zeroed in with the adjustables. I saw the Dawson's adjustables tht was myother choice besides the Heinies. I will reload so now I'm leaing towars the adjustable sight. One question though, is the night or fiber optic sights allowed in IPSC? Does it have an advantage, especially the fiber optic front sight? John Thompson
I've had a different expeirence than Duane. I've never had to move my rear sights on my guns no matter what the load. Unless one is shooting PPC fixed sights are fine.
MBaban
For IPSC distances, would there be a big difference? Mark

Mark With your G35 you'll be in IPSC Standard Div due to barrel length. Fiber optic or night sights is allowed. Personally, I'd go with a narrow (~.090") FO sight enough to see those mini poppers out to 25 yards..
Duane Thomas
For IPSC distances, would there be a big difference? "IPSC distances" can be up to 50 yards. It doesn't happen that often, but it does happen.

MBaban
Duane, what distance do you sight your gun at? Mark
Duane Thomas
50 feet is the maximum distance possible at the indoor ranges on which I do most of my shooting. Strangely enough, sight the gun in at 50 feet and I can still hit the fat part of a US popper at 35 yards, no problem.
