mgmcaleer
Does anyone have any load data for a .45 ACP Zero 185 JHP bullet using VihtaVouri N320 to make major power factor? VihtaVouri load data calls for 5.7 grains of powder and to seat the bullet to an OAL of 1.268. This seems to be too long for my Kimber Custom. The bullet is being pushed into the rifling and the slide will not lock forward. With the exposed lead on the JHP this also causes a variation of the seating depth to be around .005. Also, with the bullets seated to VihtaVouri load data (oal 1.268) they are too long to fit in my Wilson Combat magazines. I dropped the seating depth back to 1.262 and backed of the charge to 5.5 grains (I have not yet chronographed this load to see what it is doing). They seem to function more consistently but every once in a while I still get the round that either won’t fit in the magazine or won’t allow the slide to lock forward. Any information will be appreciated.
