Tactical Timmy
I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with the plating coming off Rainier bullets.I shoot an STI Edge.It looks the the bullets are key holing but what everyone around here thinks the plating is getting cut by the rifling in the barrel and its starting to come off in mid air. Thx for the help
TonyT
I believe you may either be pushing the bullets at too high a veloicity or you are damaging the plating when crimping. I shoot the 180 gr. Rainiers at up to ca 910 fps with a very light crimp - just enough to remove the case belling.
Chris Keen
Ive been told Rainier's are ok up until about 1350 fps. Shouldn't be a problem in LTD division.

HSMITH
Your crimp is too tight, .421" at the tightest, if you are under that they will keyhole badly. If you pull a loaded bullet and it has a dent from the crimp you are over crimping them. Also keep in mind that some barrels won't shoot plated bullets well no matter what you do.
