twix
I will be needing a holster for my new old N frame for IPSC. Any suggestions? Cheaper is better, but best is to only buy once and be happy.
Patrick Sweeney
Try Blade Tech. Rich Bitow had one at the FGN, and he was very fast with it. His was for a 6", but it could work with a 5".
spook
Hoeppner & Schumann make a very fine holster, the speedsec 5. I believe it is distributed by Frank Garcia in the US. You can look it up under "Gear and Acc" The CR Speed is also very good. I believe the link is http://www.rescomp.co.za These are not cheap, but very good though. Sixgun
I use the Universal Shooting Academy revolver holster for my 5" 686+ and have been very happy with it. They are distributed by Frank Garcia, and I procured mine through Brownells. Hope this helps. Ray C.
banjobart
The old standby "Cup Challenge " by Safariland will work just fine with any barrel length. If going longer than 6", remember to remove the front sight guard or it may knock off the front sight during the draw. Brownells has the cup challenge at a dealer discount, less than a hundred bucks. The Blade Tech is very good, too. About $65.
scooterj
Dillon also carries the "Cup Challenge" for lots less than $
Hawker
Check out the CR Speed by Rescomp. I use one for my 625. It's great. Hawker
Norm Lee
Hi Twix: If you haven't already got a holster you should have a look here: http://www.sickinger.at/sickinger-holster/...index1_engl.htm Very slick and can accommodate different length bbls to about 6.5" Cheers, Norm. twix
Norm, those are cool looking. Thank you. I think the gun is sold however (it wasn't the gun's fault, she was lovely).
BigDave
Can anyone elaborate on the Safariland Cup Challenge holster for the 5" 610? The website only lists, basically, 4,6 and 7" guns, but not a single 5" (not that I could see anyway). If you were to buy, say a 6" model for the 610, is there any problem with there being no muzzle protection, as far as retention is concerned? Last thing I want is too long of a holster that will get me dq'd for dropped guns.
SmallPaul
Dave The Cup Challenge retains the revolver by gripping around the cylinder, this is fairly secure, not foolproof but close. Usually the "front sight guard" will also catch a revolver that is slipping out of the holster, even a 5" in a 6" holster.
