InTheBlack
I'm using a straight drop open holster, the Galco AV212. My grips are the Hogue rubber with the finger grooves. I've just realized that the grips reduce the gap between the gun and the leather (top of the belt loop portion) and because of the reduced gap, I have to "fiddle" to get my finger around the gun. The gap is 5/8", and without the ridge of the finger groove it would be 1/4" more.
Duane Thomas
Just a piece of advice - feel free to ignore it - but I'd dump the Hogue finger grooves. Rubber finger groove grips really slow down your draw. You want to be able to slide your hand into place - the rubber tends to want to "grab" the hand and interferes with it sliding smoothly into place on the grip. It's really hard to beat standard checkered wooden grips (I have yet to play with the grit impregnated jobbies) and checkering or skateboard tape on the frontstrap and mainspring housing from the standpoint of allowing the hand to slide into place, but then giving you a non-slip grip once you lock down.
