John K
I have a Lee turret press and bought a set of lee carbide 45acp dies. The problem is that the belling die does not seem to be compatible with the powder drop. The dies has a screw in the top but when i take it out, nothing happens. I see in other pictures of the carbide die sets that the belling die does have the threaded adapter for the powder charge. Am I missing something? thanks, John
Miranda
ummm, I am doing some guessing here. I think something is missing and I am not sure what. the powder drop... you have a hopper over the belling step? It does not drop powder? Is the case belled after you run it into the die ? There is an insert in the die that is lifted by the case. that insert activates the powder drop. the hopper might not drop powder if you have it in only as far as the first few threads and the die is up away from the ram. ok I am babbling now... lets try it this way. explain what happens at each station? that way I can get a sense of how you word and describe things. and maybe some one else will see /understand what I miss... miranda Edited April 3, 2007 by Miranda
.40AET
Whose die and powder measure are you using? It seems that the powder measures need a dedicated die. You may have problems putting a Lee powder measure on a Redding die.
Miranda
ummm I think I have a good guess. the die set somes with a powder drop... funnel.... in place. it is for hand filling the case. you have to remove it, unthread it. then the autodisk and hopper will thread into the die.... miranda
