zhunter
I HATE the high price of bullets, but... I can shop around and save maybe $5-7 per thousand. In the big picture, when you figure that into the price per shot, it is a waste of my time to bother shopping the prices etc. I either shoot Montana Gold or Zero JHP's. To put it further in perspective: I drove 2 1/1 hours each way to a match on Saturday. The gas cost me about $60. What is $6 per thousand in an order of bullets? aerosigns
I hear what your saying about cost, and how it is relative to other things. But if I don't do what I can to keep things in check, my wife will freak when she sees the check. I figured it out, and last year I fired 5000 rounds of .45 Raniers. Are they the cheapest? No, not when I could be shooting lead. I just worry about handling any more lead rounds than I have to, the smoke factor, and the clean up. But if I can save $10-20 a thousand by just looking prowling the internet that means I got a free 1000 for the trouble. Plus I just like to help others out, and doesn't it make you wonder why there is such a wide variety in prices, and shipping charges. PS REV you were right. I blended the two precisions together. Precision bullets is $76.25 for Moly coated. This is still bad when I have been paying $64 for plated.
Rocket35
In my experience the Masterblasters don't smoke or lead much with the Univ. Clays load I am using. I also learned some tips to increase the performace with their bullets my Tom Stidham himself. 1. Use Ramshot Competition powder. 2. Allow the bullets to cure more with a couple of weeks under a lamp. He mentioned that once completely cured they are very close to performing like a jacketed bullet. With very virtually no smoke and/or leading. 3. He is working on re-tooling his bullet dies for a straight wall bullet without the grease ring to further improve the performace of their bullets. Like I said before- superior quality and service!
Jaxshooter
I just laoded 25 rounds of 45 ACP with Precision 230 gr round nose bullets that a friend gave me to try. I shot them in an SV that I use for heavy metal. Excellent accuracy, no smoke loaded with 4.0 gr Clays. I just ordered 500 of the 185gr 40 caliber to try in my Limited guns. If they work like the 45s I am going to switch from 180gr Zero's.

Jaxshooter
Sorry for the late post. I just tested the .40 185 gr Precision bullets in my SV Limited gun. They are as accurate as the Zero 180 gr HP that I was shooting. Dropped powder charge .3 gr to get the same PF.

Got a response from Dave today stating that their refinery had a kettle blow out and they ran out of alloy. Should be back in full production in 2 weeks. LPatterson
I knew there was a reason to order another 2K Precision & Precision Delta's to go with the 4K I haven't started loading yet. Now if I could just find some Federal 150's, 500 was all the Missoula Sportsmans Warehouse had left in stock.
Steve Moneypenny
Dave is a stand up business man if he says 3 weeks expect your bullets to be on time. I hate it when companies keep strining me a long. I ordered today and got the same response. Problems with the foundry where he gets the lead, coupled with a large sale that depleted his inventory are the reasons behind this delay. As copper prices keep going up I would expect him to do more business. Some waiting may become nessicary until it is a solid move to upgrade things. AS with any business which has great product at competitive prices demand will outgrow supply at times.
