Duane Thomas
I'm a major fan of R. Blake Stevens' book The Browning High Power Automatic Pistol. This book covers the Hi-Power from John Browning's earliest toolroom prototypes, though all the various Saive design evolutions all the way to production, and so on. It's a lavishly illustrated, oversized coffee table book, truly a thing of beauty, with hundreds of photos of rare, possibly one-of-a-kind prototypes from the Browning Museum. I have a vague memory there is also such a book on the design evolution of the 1911 though I can't remember the name or who wrote it. Anyone out there know?
