Derwoodski
I shot my 1st IDPA match on Sunday (I have been shooting USPSA for about 6 months) And got 5th overall out of 47 shooters (also got 1st unclassified ssp, 2nd ssp overall), I shoot a CZ-75B and she ran like a swiss watch! I think I will like shooting both disciplines very much. Now I just have to get classified, any tips on the classifier?? D

D Congrats on first IDPA match and placing so well, you will not having any trouble getting classified with results like that, looks like you will classify as expert(idpa) or somewhere close. When you shoot the classifier just shoot your normal game and see where you come out. Shoot the best you can and use the classifier as a gauge of what to work on. txaggie
There are some good tips at this link for the classifier: http://www.ccidpa.org/clastips.html
Jane
Excellent link by TXAggie. Also, good info on IDPA's website: General information Stage setup drawing Shooting instructions (Don't worry... you don't have to memorize this. The safety officer will instruct you what to do next.) Instructions for safety officers (but also worth reading by shooters)
kdmoore
Depends on what your scores were for the 3 stages, but generally the third is where most improvements can be made. Shoot as fast as you can make your hits, practice it from 5 or 10 yards further. How's your RWR/TR? that might be a place to shave a second. Without the vest it would gain a couple of tenths anyway.I am looking forward to the classifier, it will be interesting to see where I end up. I have one more regular match between now and the classifier next month , plus a Uspsa match. good practice time.
