Airic
Shot my first USPSA match last saturday since september. I figured i'd just go out and hose a little, have some fun. It was a four stage match, and I blew two of the stages. Took a miss on one stage and 2 misses on another. The other two stages were blazing fast. After each stage, I did what I normally do, sit back and think about what I did and saw during the stage. Only problem was I couldnt remember anything. I couldnt remember seeing any sight pictures, couldnt remember one reload. All I remembered was running through the stage. Won my class, 2nd in my division and 11th overall. Not a bad finish, but I am disturbed by my lack of vision. Do any of you remember individual sight pictures or reloads from a stage?
Catfish
Yes; for me it just depends on how hard I'm looking at the sights. I find if I program the stage right, I can remember the stage for years afterwards... You shot pretty well for not having pulled the trigger in awhile!! Hope to see you at the range again soon. joseywales
You had heads turning on a couple of those stages! Several guys come up to me with a 'who's THAT guy?' - sorry, but none of the girls were asking about you... :-) Hope to see you at Greenville on the 2nd Saturday in January. Drop me a PM with your email address and I'll put you on the match distribution list. Edited January 2, 2007 by joseywales
Matt Cheely
Do any of you remember individual sight pictures or reloads from a stage? Yes, in great detail. If I don't, I probably shot poorly.
Flexmoney
Only problem was I couldnt remember anything. You remember not seeing...you remember going fast... ? Maybe throw that into your evaluation ? BTW, I like how Brian says it..."get interested in the shooting". You might try your experiment again with the idea of collection some feedback this time. I thought a little about that. I talked to one of my friends about what happened and he stated "maybe your index took over, you obviously had a good index because you were getting your hits. Ive heard that the subconcious part of your body can take over and you dont even have to see what your doing sometimes. You may have extended your "warp" speed range from 5-7 yards to like 10-12 yards." Could be an explination, but I wouldnt want to get into that habit.....might bite me in the butt in the long run. I dont really think I could be a consistant shooter through this method.
benos
After a good stage, almost always, all the details I remember coincide with what I visualized before I shot. be
