Then my new Front Sight finally arrived yesterday and I read the letters to the editor and thought somebody is really nuts. The ads on TV and in magazines for underwear, cosmetics, perfume, clothing and so on show more than these two ads but they make them out to be near porn. I have my past issues of Front Sight on my coffee table where they will stay as there is nothing pronographic or suggestive in those ads. All I have left to say to those people is "GET A LIFE!" That said, I dont believe we are entitled to go through life free of any thing that may offend us. Every day I am subjected to rap music, poor political ideals, ugly cloths, ugly cars, people of extremely low charictor telling me how I should live my life. If we give in to political correctness by trying to never offend anyone, we forfeit our freedoms.. or someone elses freedoms. I try to be true to my own beliefs, and not to step on other peoples rights ..even if I hate!! what they are doing. MY personel opinion the board certified psychiatrist would gladly take away other peoples freedom as to not offend a very small group of deviant people! Do car ads trigger car thieves! You don't have to look far to find racier pictures than that in the public domain. In fact there is so much of it out there I barely notice anymore. After all the fuss I went back and looked for the ad. I realized that I had seen it when it first came out but never gave it a second thought. I was not "offended" per se by the ads, however I do believe that they have no place in our private publication, which reserves the right to publish or not publish anything they want. If they find the SV ad obvectionable, and ban it, they are setting the precedent to exclude any advertising that includes people in it that SOMEONE finds objectionable.
