Hog Sniper
I was going through some pricing for primers and noticed the Magtech. Has anyone used these primers on lighter action jobs? How do they compare to a Federal primer? THanks in advance?
Action Pistolero
I'd be reluctant to use them in a revolver with a tuned action. A friend of mine bought 1k to try in 9mm. He told me that with 9mm Win once fired brass the primers would not stay in the cases. I would only get 1k and try them. With the availability of Federals these days you don't have much to loose. Flexmoney
I got a bunch to try. I'll be using them for practice. They are harder than Federals, IMO.
Glenn Tracey
I was shopping for bullets last Thursday. Magtech was on my list, but they raised prices to wholesalers in December and do not offer pricing (on bullets) in quantities larger than 500. Their bullet price became un-competitive.......would their primers? I picked up Federals for $16.80/1,000 & no tax/no Hazmat at King of Prussia gun show last weekend. So if I load for you, you are getting Federal, or my 7 year old CCI. Heh, Heh. Gotta get my edge on you !
19852
I used 'em in my 9mm CZ. Don't know about the hardness but I did have trouble with the primers falling out of my once - twice reloaded brass. I didn't like finding unburned powder and live primers on the bottom of my ammo bag.
The Brit.
I've just switched from MagTec to federal primers for my Taurus .45acp revolver. I was getting 6/7 'light strikes' per 100 with MagTec. Since changing to Federal, every round has gone bang! The extra £3.50 per 1000 is worth 10x that during a comp.
