Glenn Tracey
I have found stashed from my 1999 move ( yeah..things don't move fast here in the PA Mountains), approx 7,500 of Remington and Winchester 185 grain JSWC, or Match SWC in .45 ACP. I'd like to use them for Icore, and for IPSC practice so that maybe I can get enough proficiency to stop embarassing myself. The useful powders I have are: + - 6# WW231; 2# Clays; 2# Unique; 1# Bullseye; 1# V V 310 and 1# V V 320. I've plenty of once fired brass from this year's shooting and 4M unfired IMI .45 ACP Match (from 1997). I'm piecing the loads together from past & present loading data, but with the bullet heads and powder I've on hand I'd like some input from you fellow revolver shooters. So, pet loads if any, for 185 JSWC with above powders. Would appreciate velocity if known and C.O.L. I wanted to keep this here amongst the Revolver group. If felt it needs to go into Reloading, Moderator please move it
R112mercer
I would start around 4.0 gr. of Bullseye or 3.4 gr. of Clays. Both are nice, fast powders for the .45. I use 4.0 of Bullseye under a 200 gr. LSWC (alright, alright, it's 15 gr. heavier, but the fact that it's lead and not jacketed should help even it up some) for my Bullseye load. It's a tad warm for Bullseye, but it gives the bullet enough oomph to seal in the bore properly and make it smoothly to 50 yds.
