Putty
I may be taking the plunge on a 1050 as I am shooting 800 rounds on the weekend and 100 rounds mid-week per day. Reloading has become quite tedious on the 550B. I only shoot .40/10mm. What would you do? Keep it as a backup or sell the mutha for some hard cash that can be used for bullets? Merlin Orr
Keep it as a backup. You may find yourself wanting to dabble with another caliber and the 550 is the berries for quick and easy changes.... AND, perish the thought...sometimes there are teething pains when moving to a new press....
9x21
1+!! Keep it, You may want it for other calibers someday

ima45dv8
Keep it! But definitely get the 1050.
BigTinVA
Sell it to me so I don't have to buy a 1050.
Tom Freeman
You need a 1050. You know you do. Keep your 550. I have two 1050s and I still have both my original 550s. I am out of bench space however..
D.Hayden
If you were really only going to load 40, ever.. then I'd sell it. I have a 1050 and still use the 550s..
Loves2Shoot
Sell it and buy 1050 toolheads...
EricW
I regret selling my *2nd* 550. I couldn't live without the first. For low-volume rifle and stuff like 44 mag, the 550 is unbeatable.
Nik Habicht
I thought many times about selling the 650 and just buying additional toolheads for the 1050. That changed when I broke the 1050's main shaft and had no ammo stockpiled....... I just feel better, especially since I almost never load in advance, having a spare press...... I really HATE everything about reloading, except for the price, and the quality /consistency of the ammo...... One of my fantasies about striking it rich is to hire a reloader/caddy/coach --- which goes along with the fantasy of a Winnebago type vehicle for match travel, with a masseuse on board...... warpspeed
Pretty simple - If you can afford it, keep it.
al503
After you get the 1050 running, you won't want to reload on anything else. Like someone above mentioned, I would only keep the 550 if you reload some rifle calibers in low quantity.
Jim Norman
2 1050 and one 650. 90% loads on one 1050, .40 for limited, steel an dproduction, minor adjustments to seating depth and a different powder drop. 2nd 1050, for 38super, same deal, steel and Open Major. 650 is for 9mm, 45, 223, 308 and anything else I want to only make a few of.
