Neomet
OK, not sure where to post so please feel free to move to a more appropriate catagory. I would like to shoot my .45 XD in Production from time to time and don't reload. What are some recommendations on soft shooting .45 ammo? Thanks! warpspeed
Federal Gold Medal Match Pistol Part # GM45B - 185 gr SWC @ 770 fps. It is a pleasure to shoot, accurate as all can be. In my Colt Gold Cup, it feeds very well. You might try a box first before commiting to any volume as the SWC profile may or may not like the XD feed ramp geometery. ETA - If this is a little too pricey, you might try the Winchester USA in 185gr. Not as heavy recoil as the 230gr stuff. chunger
I ordered a bunch of cheap 230 grain MFS JHP. . . they chronoed at 750 fps out of my gun. Very soft feeling. ~$240 for 1000 when I ordered them.
Greg Jones
I normally reload lead bullets myself, but occasionally I need jacketed bullets and I've found the Blazer Brass 230 grain ball to be a good substitute. I've never shot it over the chronograph, but I'd guess it clocks around 775-800 fps. A local dealer routinely puts them on sale for $9.00 for a box of 50. yoshidaex
Cheap, major PF ammo. Yeah I know its wolf but its cheap and the claims of the cases breaking extractors are not backed up by hard evidence. I should take some fired cases and see what sort of rockwell hardness they are at........
