Kimber Ambi Thumb Safety

Where can I purchase a Kimber stainless steel wide ambi thumb safety? I looked on Kimber's web site but found no listing. Any ideas?

Do you have to get a Kimber safety? They are MIM parts, you'd be better off with a Ed brown or one of the many other safety.

I was interested in looking at the off hand attachment method. I long for a Brown safety with integral themb shields (like the Swenson) with the Kings type of dovetail attachment. I heard that the Kimber used a different method than the Kings. Any ideas? Want to take on the project?

If you want the ultimate, buy SV barstock ambis. MIM ambis for IPSC shooting is bad juju.

If you crimp the slot on a standard ambi together in a vise, then chisel in a bump on the business end of the tab, they won't come loose. You will have to tap the ambis together with a brass hammer. It has been very successful for me.

You can weld a shield onto the Ed Brown, but at that point it would be cheaper and easier to go straight to the Swenson...

I loked th eidea of the SVI ambi safeties with the screw attachement, but they stopped making them. Does anyone know why? Anyone know of a source for a new set?
