Doom, The Movie

Recommended Posts

I started watching Doom, partway into the broadcast. I figured, "Hey, a bad movie, lotsa guns, this could be fun in a Kull kinda way."

Oh god. Bad gun wrangling. Bad cinematography. Bad lighting. Hackneyed scenes. Cliches out the wazoo. Dialogue written by aspiring and incompetent screen writers on a three-day huffing jag. Bad acting. Bad science.

I suppose the film makers were up against an impossible task: if they deviated from the game, the legions of fans would eat them alive. If they stuck with the game, they'd never work in Hollywood again.

How bad was it? I watched five-six minutes, and could hear brain cells screaming for mercy before dying.

Yah, I had high expectations after playing the pc game for so long. Hopefully Half-life will be a movie....now theres a story line.

Same actor/wrestler ruined scorpion king.

You can usually force yourself through a bad movie, but I challenge you to sit through the entire POS remake of "Bewitched" with Will Farrel and Nicole Kidman. Just try it for kicks, I bet you can't.

The only cool scene was when the camera zoomed in on Urban's eye and then he stands up in a first-person view and realizes he is healed. The rest of the movie was pretty dumb (including the rest of the first-person part), but I thought that transition was kind of neat in a "let's get it on" kind of way, even if it turned out to be a letdown.

Silent Hill was suprisingly worse...and THAT was better than Street Fighter.

I'd give my Dillon to see a movie based on a video game that DOESN'T have the line "Game Over"

10 minutes into Silent Hill and I had to kill it before a shot my TV, Elvis style.
