steel1212
I just recently installed a extended slide release on my 1911 single stack gun and didn't think anything about it. Shot to slide lock, loaded a mag, went to sling shot and nothing, had to hit the slide release. Ok get so I'm thinking its the slide stop. I put the factory one in there and the same thing....what gives? I'm useing wilson mags and it did the same thing with the springfield mags as well. The gun is 200 rounds new. ima45dv8
Are you using a shok buff? yeah...I'll take that off and see what that does. Yeah, that limits the travel of the slide. Common occurence. Should return to normal function once removed.

I have been running 14# springs with the shock buff will the gun be ok with out the shock buff and the 14#er or am I no where near light enough to worry about it? Run n Gun
I've been running my 5" 45 with a 14# spring and without a shok-buff for YEARS without a problem. Ed
