unclez
Just installed a set of DP fixed sights with the .105 x .205 front. Shooting off the bench at 10 yards I'm about a 1 1/4" high and at 25yds I'm about 3 1/4" high. Which front sight height should I get to correct? There next step up is the .225, .285 and .300. Which do you think should get me back in the ballgame?
Matt Cheely
Assuming that you are shooting a 1911 with a 6.75" sight radius, you need a .025" taller front sight to move your POI down about 3.25" at 25 yards. I'd get the .225" sight. Disclamer, I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.
unclez
It's a G34 which will actually be around a 7.300" sight radius with the DP's.
Matt Cheely
In that case you need 0.0261" higher on the front sight. Going to the .225 should move your POI 2.5" at 25 yards. That's not bad, you'd probably be within an inch or so of your POA from 0-50 yards.

Scott R
You could always just call DP.
splashdown
So I'm not the only AutoCAD nerd around here. That's good to know!
