txaggie
I was thinking about this the other day. Sometimes, I have trouble getting a quick (read accurate) sight picture when engaging targets strong hand only drawing from a holster. Would it be legal to draw and mount the gun, obtain my sight picture with both hands, freestyle, then drop the weak/support hand and fire at the targets? (and yes this question is also posted in the USPSA rules section, in case you might have seen it there also)
Bob Hostetter
Assuming nothing has changed recently the requirement to shoot either strong hand or weak hand only applies only to the time when you are actually firing the shot(s). While it would certainly be better to practice and develope your one handed shooting skills, there should not be a rules violation for doing it the way you described in either IDPA or USPSA. Singlestack Wonder
As long as the shot is fired with the stong hand only, hand position leading up to that moment means nothing.
