chad allred
Is my Para P-14 Lda IDPA legal with the Dawson Ice magwell?
tnpyeron3
Probably not. The magwell is legal, but it would have to fit in the IDPA box with the magazine in. I know my P16 will not fit in the box with the mags in, so I'm guessing that your's won't either. From the rule book|: In addition to meeting the criteria for all equipment, pistols, with an empty magazine inserted, must fit in the IDPA gun test box measuring 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 5/8”. COF
How much does it weigh? CDP = max. 41 oz with an empty mag. My P-14 Limited just makes weight without a magwell.
ArnisAndyz
Smith & Alexanders Magwell for the Para might (or might not) fit into the box. You have to trim part of the frame down. It does look much smaller than the Dawsons though.
baa
As stated above, the Dawson ICE well will not fit in the box. To be more specific, the box will not close. I know a couple people who have trimmed the outer edge of the mag well so the box just closes. YMMV.
