BIGDEER
Well you guys, I don't do revolver (much) but I included you in the predictions on the Major match threads. BUT.................. IT seems none of you are known aside from Jerry. I looked back at the major match results up till now and made my predictions........(except for Rudi) as he is quite well known for his skills with a revolver. So I'll bring it here for all to see............and jabber about. 1 Jerry M. 2 Dan C. 3 Cliff W. 4 Rudi W.(if he shoots) 5 Mike C. 6 Tom K. (if he shoots, and if Rudi doesn't.) That will be the top 5........from studying this years match results (except Rudi) I also saw on another thread that there will be a new record number of you guys shooting at the Nationals, Congratulations for that! Now I have a suggestion on how to get the others to know who is who....... Make your predictions on the other thread, Like Pskys2 did and let the rest of the US know who is who in the Revolver Division. Might help, you never know.......can't hurt for sure. hopalong
So that means if I bet 10 on Miculek, I get 14 back? Man if that is it, I'm gonna take out a loan and go to VEGAS. I'll toss mine in since I had to visit due to the TN match directors question. 1 Jerry Miculek 2 Dan Carden 3 Mike Carmoney 4 Cliff Walsh 5 John Burkholder And...............I'll go as far to say.......... Dan, Mike, Cliff, and John all shoot 85% or better of Jerry!!!! NOW you turkeys..............DON'T mess up my predicitons......ok you might swap some places but DON'T even think about the 6th prediction. Steve Moneypenny
wow.... how about the question of who will be first runner up.. we allll know jerry will win!!!
aerosigns
Dr. Dre, I think it is only obvious who they mean. The Carmoney in question is moving from grade 7 to 1 (more). That has to mean they are looking at Sam. Of course I'm sure that Vegas doesn't know that we were planning on getting him some big drinks, big girls, and some big cigars the night before. Seriously to all of the guys listed, I think it says quite a bit for you all to be listed and people actually dropping hard earned cash on you. (No pressure Mike!). I was also glad to see Keiths name listed there as it should be. Jim
SIX SHOT
Anyone of the 3 Amigos is capable of that "coveted" runner up spot, I haven't seen Cliff shoot but his experience around the country & out of it (world shoot) could make a difference. Also, I've said before that John Burkholder & Tom Kettells are as good as any, Tom has beaten Rich Bitow several times & if any of you have seen Rich shoot, you will know that is never an easy thing to do. I've seen Dan & Mike shoot & I"m sure they've only gotten better. Young, smart, atheletic, aggressive, confident.............seems like there was something else they wanted me to tell you! Just kidding! Both are really nice guys. So, my prediction, if he is entered, is, John Burkholder in 2nd place. Dick
Carmoney
Young, smart, atheletic, aggressive, confident..... .....and stunningly handsome. Dick, you'd be making a decent bet on John B., the times I've shot with him he's shown not only plenty of skill and speed, but also great consistency, which is one of the most important keys to winning a larger match. On several occasions over the past year I've made a serious mistake on one stage that cost tons of match points, in several cases knocking myself into second place in matches I would have otherwise won. Avoiding mistakes and maintaining mental focus are so critical to success at the higher levels, and John's very good at both of those. I've never shot with Tom K. or Rich B., but I would enjoy the opportunity--plus, you're a damn strong wheelgunner in your own right, Six Shot! Maybe next year I'll make a point to travel west for a big match or two....
Nemo
Carmoney 7-1 Which Carmoney? Sam, of course! Well, I'm not a betting man and have never won anything that was left to luck. However, I have to stand by my "homey" Cliff Walsh to either win it all or come in a really close second to "The Monster". (Not withstanding he's got the West Coast (of Florida that is ) thing working against him) Cliff's got the week-long match experience edge over my two other buddies, Car$ and Carden and if he can focus in the RIGHT KIND OF BULLET (not of the silver rendering) he'd come on strong. So here are my predictions: 1- Walsh 2- Miculek 3- Carden 4- M. Carmoney (you'll be too busy coaching Sam and Dan will get you) 5- Keen (NOT CHRIS) 6- J.Burkholder 7- Bagakis 8- Griggs 9- Sweeney (but Sam will beat you if he manages to stay awake!) 10- S. carmoney Well Cliff, I've thrown it... Now it's up to you "Mi amigo" Edited July 26, 2006 by Nemo
SIX SHOT
Mike, I'm going to try and do nationals next year if things work out. I had the heart surgery earlier this year & have since retired, not because of health though. Trying to get my weight down so I'm walking 5-6 miles a day. I plan on another trip to Africa next year, I'm still mad at a 60" Kudu! At the very least some of us Soda Springs boys plan on an Area match back your way, hope to see you then, along with the remainder of the 3 Amigos. hopalong
Nemo, That is pretty bold............ I have a question though. How am I going to make 5th on the list with the "Benny Blaster"? You know, this is hard. with 34 shooters that means there are twice as many as last year (almost) and who are they and where did they come from??? Bob Perdue did say he has heard from Rudi and that Rudi plans on being at the big show again this year. Dillard? Last I talked to Dillard was at A-6 and he was shooting Production, with the goal of making Master with it this year..........so who knows? I see where Dick Thompson will be cheering Carmoney on.......(No fair, no cheerleaders allowed..........wait, maybe some Hooters type cheerleaders to distract some of the front runners!!! ) What about Tom Ketteles(Sp), Rich Bitow, Jack Graham........some of the ICORE hot rods.....That Kid that did so well at IRC???? Aw Hell........I think I'll just stay with what I said and go from there. See you folks in 7 weeks. SAM

Sam, My other prediction is that 4 weeks before the match (that's in 3 weeks) you are going to change your mind and will call Sedro to ask to be moved to the division of your roots. Since I'm not going to be there, Cliff will be missing a bald-headed guardian angel to keep him on track. [spooky voice mode] come back Sam... come back... [/voice] It will haunt your dreams until you make the call to Sedro.

Double Action
I'm shocked that Waltermitty and I did not make the Sands odds list. I won't pretend I'm not disappointed, as even mini DA has faith in me. Seriously, good luck to us all. It looks like a fun match from the stage diagrams. 10mmdave
Stage diagrams are up on the Nationals website. Jeez, I may have to go just to watch folks shoot stage 18 "heel's on marks" (the marks are X's half way up on the wall ) Stage 13 looks fun too, sort of a domino action ?!? Carmoney
Did you see the stage where you have to start with "magazine in gun, chamber empty"? Wonder what that means for revolvers?
Patrick Sweeney
If we're lucky; hammer down on an empty chamber, five rounds in the gun. Probably; empty cylinder. Can someone please explain what practical skill that start tests?
Nemo
Stage 15: Chamber Check "Start Position: Toes on marks, hands naturally at sides, gun loaded and holstered with magazine inserted, chamber empty" Is this the one you mean Mike? If it was a gun-on-table start maybe a revo could be specified to leave the cylinder open, but not on a holstered start. Since the instruction is for magazine inserted, guess it doesn't apply to revos. We don't use no stinkin' magazines!

That top five is a tall order. Those guys don't play nice at the Nationals. Would be nice to see ya give'm a run though. Personally, I'd be content with a top five in B Class with that number of revolvers competing! What's our running total? Over 34 yet?

pskys2
Ran into one of those Mag in an empty gun things at a State Match in 2003. Since I didn't have a Mag, I ignored it and loaded up. Nobody said anything, but then I was the only guy with a Revo there. So the rest were kind of "in shock". My picks, either Danbagger/Dr. Dremel edge out JM, on a controversial call in the dark house. Where they don't know JM's done and hit the door with the timer adding 20 seconds, which then matches all other "normal" runs! And Cliff/Hop nipping at JM's heels. I'd include El Conquistador in the above list if they run out of the Silver Bullet in Quincy. But my Intel tells me there's been an increase in deliveries from Iowa recently. I seriously believe a change is in the winds and think the level of competition will get JM's attention this year. Good Luck to all.
