John Dunn
Loaded up some chrono rounds today with 8.2 gr of 4756 and the case looked pretty full, like a lightly compressed load. Looked like a lot of powder compared to Tightgroup in a .45. Decided to ask if that's about right before I torch them off. Just looking for a little reassurance for this open gun rookie. Thanks. al503
I load 8.9 grains in a supercomp case and I have about an 1/8" left.

nhglyn
I use 4756 in 38 Super for two open guns: Brazos Pro SC (full size): 8.8 grs Brazos Pro Sx (shorty): 9.0 grs Even with the 9.0 grs I still have just under 1/8" left in the case. And, as AWLAZS says, don't sneeze! If using Dillon 550 be smooth in how you spin shellplate to next position.
John Dunn
Thanks guys. I'm not used to the compressed load thing. I may have to cut a little off the ball detent spring. The nice thing is that a double charge will be impossible to miss. nhglyn-saw your quote in the Blue Press! Good deal!
Brazos Custom
I moved the seating die so that it is next in line after the powder drop. I then place the bullet on the case as it is coming around - before it gets to the next station. Keeps all the powder in place.
