al503 Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Yes, I admit it. I'm one of the few that still has dial up at home. Now that the cost of high speed is pretty darn close to dial up, any suggestions? I don't really need anything that fast as I'm actually OK with dial up. A little extra speed would be welcome every once in a while for watching the vids here, etc. I was thinking about the Verizon DSL 768/128, which I know is deathly slow for some of you guys but for someone that's been on dial-up... Besides, it's only $14.95/mo with a one time $14.95 charge for a wireless router. Any thoughts are appreciated. Also, what the heck is a 'FUSF recovery charge?'
open17 Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Went from 56K dial-up to the Verizon $14.95 DSL in January. Cost is less than dial-up, and doesn't tie up the phone line. We are kind of out of town (Amity, OR), and it isn't as fast as advertised, but still 10x dial-up. Happy with it so far, zero problems.
