sleipnir Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Our Club is in the beginning steps of a process to create a lead abatement program for our range. We've gathered a lot of information. We have a club member who is an environmental engineer, but who does not have expertise in this area, leading the effort. We've obtained some rudimentary instruction from the NRA in what is expected in such a program. We are well on our way in doing the beginning legwork. We want to have in place a process for dealing with lead before we need it -- before anyone starts asking questions that we cannot answer. We also want to do the right thing and protect our environment, members, and neighbors. We truly want to be good citizens and are not necessarily doing this out of fear, rather out of concern and caution, trying to be proactive rather than reactive. That being said, do any of you belong to a club that has instituted a lead abatement/management program? Since we have no real direct expertise we would like to learn what other clubs have done so as not to reinvent the wheel. If any of you belong to a club that has gone through the process of creating such a program and would be willing to share experiences, guidance, copies of your plans, I would really like to hear from you. Please email me on this board if you can help.
