Putty Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Anyone know of a source that could do these cuts on an STI setup?
bulm540 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 i e-mailed the slide lightening that I wanted to Rich D. ( canyon creek) and he told me send in the slide. took 2 weeks ( fast turnaround) and included refinishing. Try e-mailing Rich D. the pics and I am sure he will be happy to do it.
Radical Precision Designs Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 You would/could get an appropiate response should you post this request in the Classified Section of "Wanted". It is not appropiate for 'smiths to answer directly with a post for such requests in this Forum. It would be considered "advertising" or, something to that effect on the Guidelines?
XRe Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Venry, I think mentioning that any skilled smith with a mill and appropriate specs could potentially do those cuts. Venry is one of those smiths, Sandoz

bulm540 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 (edited) My poor quality pictures does not do justice to Rich D's. work. Basically I had the slide flat toppped and added a Strader cut on the front of the slide. All I can say is a top notch job by canypn creek. Frame was not refinished but slide was. here's another one. John Kane Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Nice work Bulm! It looks great! Can you comment on the performance difference for us? Thanks! John
bulm540 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 (edited) it comes down to personal preference. After I got the gun, I did have to adjust on the first 2 stages of the local match with tracking the sights, Definitely faster slide velocity. Sights go back quicker however. After the first 2 stages , I was OK. Definitely more slap on your hand due to probably increase s lide velocity but the recoil impulse is over quickly, I mean quickly. Hope that helps. Definite not as soft as a full profile slide. Edited March 18, 2006 by bulm540
