Eyesight Going South

Unless the light is perfect, finding the black front site these days is just this side of not happening.

Since I doubt I am the first to be getting older here, what do you recommend...short of going to an open gun?

Avoid the Ashleys... those won't help (particularly with accuracy shooting). Get a wider front sight and/or a fiber optic one.

Not for anything precise or outside 7y.

Try a wider rear notch, ala Heinie and a thicker FO front, like the simean said. Give yourself the illusion of being closer to the sights.
