turbocomp38s Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Any recommendations on a limited gun. Semicustom built or full custom built or STI guns out fo the box like the Edge. Thanks in advance.
Merlin Orr Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Turbo, with all due respect - try a search. There are many, many threads already on this. But, if that does not work - call Benny Hill.....
Chriss Grube Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Depends on what you want, how much you want to spend and how long you want to wait.
Gregory_k Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 STI (frame) is a good place to start to build your gun. It is really all upto you and what you want.
HSMITH Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I have two Limited guns, one is a Para I basically built myself and one is a Triangle Shooting Sports built STI. Benny at Triangle knows how to build one that runs, PERIOD and that is the most important thing in this game.
Matt Cheely Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 (edited) My opinion (and everyone just knows that I'm always right ) is that Dan Bedell's gun are some of the greatest looking and best working guns out there. Check him out! Edited March 6, 2006 by Matt Cheely
mike_pinto Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 (edited) Benny!!! Edited March 6, 2006 by mike_pinto
AikiDale Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Will you guys quit suggesting Benny? The poor man is over worked as it is. How in the world you expect him to have time to build my next gun with all these others in the way is beyond me.
Ron Ankeny Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 The best craftsmanship in terms of fit and finish, etc. that I have ever seen does come out of Bob's shop. There is no denying that. Get your wallet out and buy next year's calendar. No disrespect intended.
al503 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Bob and Ingi (brazos) sold a bunch of blasters when they were at the Fla Open. Wait times on the full customs are out there. They should still be able to get you an Semi Custom within a 2-3 months though.
Chuck Anderson Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I've had great luck with guns from EGW. The wait times are out there but the results are great.
BigDave Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 (edited) Any one of the following would do you well: Kustom Ballistics (IN) Matt Mclearn (AZ) Brazos (TX) Millenium Custom (FL) Triangle Shooting Sports (TX) EGW (PA) Bedell (NY) Dawson (TX) SV (TX) Kodiak (AZ) Frank Glenn (AZ) Barsto (CA) Limcat (NV) There are probably a few others that people could name, but you should be better than fine going with anyone of these file people. It just will depend on how long you're willing to wait. edited to add Limcat to the list Edited March 7, 2006 by BigDave
Behr Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I sure do love my Limcat Never had a lick of trouble with it. Limcat custom (NV)
Bruce Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I see so many I would love to own, we live in a great time for custom pistols. With that said, my dealings have been with Benny and boy, the guns are fantastic and just talking to the guy makes a bad day pretty darned good.
Majja Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 +1 ore Neil at Kustom Ballistics. He built me a open gun about 8 years ago and it was awsome.
Sestock Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 (edited) Try GANS Enterprises, http://www.gansguns.com/, turnaround in weeks compared to months/years. Edited March 29, 2006 by Sestock
Brian Payne Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Benny Hill - Triangle Shooting Sports. Guns that work, short wait time, great price. Also a hell of a nice guy that takes the time to answer questions on the phone. Check out the picture of my 6" Fat Free in the Gallery section.
shred Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Dawson is building mine. He's got a long waiting list but there's a reason for that. My DP open gun finally had a jam at around 80,000 rounds-- the Aftec broke. Put a new one in and it's still rock-solid reliable and accurate.
MTrout40 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Try GANS Enterprises, http://www.gansguns.com/, turnaround in weeks compared to months/years. I second the GANS motion. He's been building my guns for years. He's as good or better than any of the "big name" smiths and you won't have to wait very long. Besides, I get to test fire everything he builds...and I like shooting new guns!
Jaxshooter Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Out of the box the SV Infinity is hard to beat unless you want a custom built to your spec Limited gun. The fit finish accuracy etc are excellent. I also have an STI Executive that is nice also.
