Jake Di Vita Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Hey guys, here is the updated reload video. I got some requests to make it like TT made his reload video, so here it is. I hope it helps. The Reload
HSMITH Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Damn man, that is fast and smooth. Very nicely done indeed.
Steve Moneypenny Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Sweet reload i got to see it first... i offically make the comment.. i hate you!
Harmon Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 lets see a live fire reload vid 7 yards on paper, draw, 2 reload and 2...see how fast it can be done ..im guessing jake does it in 1.6ish.
AWLAZS Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Thanks for the new video its much easier to break it down this way
XRe Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I wish we could get a few of you guys on hi-speed camera... I was trying to check out some details of your left hand as it leaves the belt and approaches the gun... and it's a blur in each frame
Bigbadaboom Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 The left hand is still a blur in slo-mo. That's just tooooo fast.
John Kane Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Quick question... I noticed that both Jake and Travis move the pistol back and forth slightly to get ready before they initiate the reload. Is this just getting settled in or is there some other logic behind it? Thanks! John
BrazilianShooter Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Great Reload Jake!!!! Fast as Travis in his video. Have to practice a lot to get close....hehehehe Bye
SA Friday Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 SIGH..... Back to the basement for more practice. You know, a little faster and you might be able to get a sonic crack off the tip of the mag.
Flyin40 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Dayummm Jake, nice job. So smooth is scary. Flyin40
Loves2Shoot Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Very fast...can't tell who is faster you or TT.. It should be a side match at Nats, dry fire reloads and draws You could even do it at the banquet Smokin'!
AWLAZS Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Jake do you have to shift your grip to hit the mag release? It does not look like it. If you did would it change the way you move the gun?
Jake Di Vita Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 With that mag button I have on there I do not need to shift my grip (I can just barely reach it). If I do have to shift my grip though, the gun hits the exact same way points, there is just more movement as the gun shifts from side to side.
AikiDale Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Thanks for posting that video Jake! It's great to have real time images to burn into your head. When you watch it do you think you could shave a few thousanths off the time by not waving the pistol all over the place before the mag gets there and getting the movement down to more left hand and less right or does the movement from the right hand turning and bringing the gun closer need to be as big as it is?
zhunter Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Jake That is awesome dude. TT has nothing on ya!!!
Jake Di Vita Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 Dale, Whenever I look at videos of myself I ALWAYS see placed where I can shave time. The gun movement is down to just about as little as possible. You don't want to reload too far away from your body because you lose almost all of your fine motor control, the gun has to be tilting to you can see the magwell and look the reload in. zhunter, Thanks bro! I wouldn't go that far....TT is still my hero.
Steve Moneypenny Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 John... I do it the same way.. basically that is getting our grip set on the pistol so it would actually be a perfect grip before we begin to reload. A lot of us here, i know both jake and i learned our reload directly from travis himself so that's a big part of it... monkey see monkey do.
jasmap Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 It's an okay relaod if you think super frikkin' fast and smooth is a good thing. I personally think that my way of slow, sloppy, and uncoordinated is much better. Haha!
Pittbug Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Hmmm.. I just noticed something different between Jake's reload and many others I've seen. Jake must shoot with his arms bent, so he has no need to bring the gun back, then tilt it, he just tilts it and it's right there. So by doing this you eliminate the back and forth movement and you eliminate any inconsistency in timing the backwards and tilt motion with the upcoming left hand. Sorry for pointing out the obvious to the more experienced, but it just hit me as I watched this video for the 20th time.
