IceDragon Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 (edited) Built by fellow friend and shooter Mike Cripps (former National Squad member represented the UK at World Shoot 10 in 1993, qualified Range Officer, 2003 UKPSA [united Kingdom Practical Shooting Association] Open division champion), Elite Shooting Centre, Burnley, Lancashire, UK. It's one of the newer, efficient gas system ones (SCW2). It's got a 2-toned SVI Infinity "Typhoon" slide. My folks actually said the Cantonese characters were more like "Powerful/Raging Wind". It was supposed to be another backup BB gun for matches. Now it's looking REALLY tempting to shoot it at Winter due to its' excellent handling properties in Winter! On the good side, it's another model I can cross off my list and I can sleep a little better at night (due to the VCR Bill proposal in the UK). It also has a better kick than the first series! short_round Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 THat's really cool. Have you tried out the light rail yet? I wonder if the dimensions are correct enough to attach a "real" light.
IceDragon Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 Hiya Short Round! Thanks for the nice comments. That's really nice of ya. I don't have an M3 tactical light or anything like that to hand but I have measured the widest width of the rail (after showing clear, of course), and it's about 21mm. -I think standard Weaver width rail is around there? -Maybe 22mm? If memory serves, right, that is. I know that Airsoft skirmishers have managed to fit similar devices onto the rails from the forums. I do know one thing though: it fits my Ultimate Ghost Holster - yay!!! Ice!
ExtremeShot Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 (edited) You say this gun was "built".... I'd be interested to know what was upgraded and what parts were used? Thanks! Edited June 20, 2006 by ExtremeShot
IceDragon Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 Base Model: WA Infinity 5" SCW2 (aka Attraction series). Slide: Prime/PGC Infinity 'Typhoon' Aluminium slide. After pics were taken: *Shooters Design 'Wilson' Stainless Steel SCW2 Chamber. *Guarder Stainless Steel Outer Barrel. I wanted a combo of a silver chassis Airsoft for a change but with the MMC replica rear sights of the other Expert range. So Mike built it to this requirement. He swapped-out the painted trigger blades/shoes for me, too. I was enquiring about the grips and Mike suggeted swapping them out from an WA Infinity Expert series one, too. His other custom pieces can be found here:- http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk I know that when it comes to 'building' it should really be defined as custom-custom from the ground up. So, here's some custom outfitters in Hong Kong:- www.silverfoxairsoft.com (Athena's TigerCat from 2005 is here!) www.airsoft-fire.com Hope this helps. Any questions, just ask. Lab.

DJPoLo Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 www.silverfoxairsoft.com (Athena's TigerCat from 2005 is here!) Man, Lab, I am just amazed at the level of these airsoft guns. There's a whole replica/copy market that I had no idea existed. -Chet

IceDragon Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 Thanks Chet! Man, I wish I had a halfway pad in HK. Next time, I'm over there, I'll have to take some pics and show you guys. The guys there have been doing Airsoft IPSC for quite a few years now. Jay, man, if I had the dough, you'd know it'd be there to you, Next Day before 9AM! Chet, can you tell us about the famous shooter from Japan who trains with Airsoft most of the time on home soil and then competes here? Lab.
DJPoLo Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Chet, can you tell us about the famous shooter from Japan who trains with Airsoft most of the time on home soil and then competes here? That would be Tatsuya Sakai. Steel Challenge is his game. He won the 2004 Steel Challenge. DQ'ed at last year's championship. He will be one to watch at the 2006 Steel Challenge in September! -Chet

Flyin40 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Some nice lookin guns, $2700 for a airsoft gun Anyone have any luck finding the WA SV open gun. Everywhere I look its sold out. Think its around $250 or little more. Flyin40
IceDragon Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 (edited) The 'SV Championship .45 Special' is no longer produced. I've scoured many a website or two in order to find one. I found one at uncompany.com. But they ran out as soon as I purchased it. I've been staying-up many a late hour trying to figure out how to build one. Then it hit me: it's essentially a 5" Standard but with a longer inner barrel and the championship barrel and suppressor locker (the sandwiching part that makes it look like a complete barrel). 1 option that is open is to source a WA 5" Standard SVI gun and to get someone to build it from the ground-up. This weekend, I will be asking my Airsoft gunsmith to build it for me. I'll keep you posted as to how it's going. -And what readily available aftermarket parts I used in order to convert the 5" to a classic-shaped 7" Open gun. Lab. Edited June 23, 2006 by IceDragon
Flyin40 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) So whats the frames made of??? Could just drill and tap, add a alchin and a c-more and its ready to go. Or theres this KSC STI EDGE 5.1 Silver, found it here Found it under pistols and then went to KSC of Japan. Flyin40 Edited June 24, 2006 by Flyin40
IceDragon Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Hiya Flyin40! Just a quickie (I've got the British Open tomorrow): yes and yes. I've recently done exactly that with the 6" SCW SVIs (but you can do this with the previous generations, too - NON-SCW). The dustcovers/chasses are made of an zinc-alloy-type, I think. But yeah, you just drill n tap and that's it. -BUT the mount may be off centre to the left a little. So you might wanna get someone with a lathe wheel(?) to take about 1mm off the base of the scope mount. Or keep going until you're happy. Don't forget the guys and gals in Hong Kong have already used Cmores, OKO, red dot sights, etc, on airsoft BB guns for quite a while... www.hksdu.com Custom dustcovers can be made of a variety of materials: aluminium or steel. The project that I'm gonna have started on has got an aluminium chassis (stock aftermarket part NOT custom-made). Pics, component parts, sources and thread to follow soon... Lab.
Rosshooting Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 What a beauty!!! Are the rear sights adjustable?
IceDragon Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Hiya Powerman, apologies for the late reply! Unless I'm mistaken, the WA replica of the SV MMC rear sight is only vertically-adjustable. The WA Bomar ones are adjustable on both axes. I think within the next 6 months or so I'm looking to have the slide replaced with the Bomar cut. It's not completely off-centre (it has been serving me well - Top 10 match placements). But I just need it tweaking a bit more for a stress-free match. Lab.
Rosshooting Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Man, this is my gun! I love it, such a beauty!!! I’m big SV fan so when I am looking at this pistol I see my girlfriend in its shape!
