A couple of experiences with a local supplier here have me looking for once fired brass.

I want stuff that is ONCE fired , and not floor sweepings containing stuff that has been abandoned at the end of it's useful life.

Any experience with these folks ?

Thanks for the info !

The best deal is to find a Police Dept. or shooting range that will give it to you.

40 is very popular these days.

Here's some links I found in my browser....

I got a 55 Gallon drum of 40Cal from Southernbelle brass for not a lot. Freight was a little steep but we split it between quite a few of us. It worked out well under $10 per 1000 incl freight.

All was definitley once fired. Mainly Federal with some Rem thrown in as well. We weighed it out and by weight we got just over 52,000.

I've been ordering from The Brass Man for the last 3 years, as well as several other teammates, and i have to say I'm really very pleased with his brass.

If you deeply look into the brass, they really look like once fired: the inside of each brass is almost clean, as if it was factory FMJ once-fired brass picked up from a police training range.

Not a critique, just a recent actual exp with brass man brass.

I ordered 10k .40. It 99% speer nickel, which is fine but all of it had been through Glocks. All were oversized/ bulged and the primers were tough to remove. It's fine after that first loading, but pay attention when you are working it through the press the first time.

My brass will case gauge AFTER I fire it, so I have a tight, supported barrel and a load that is not torturing it, but it gave me new appreciation for how sloppy a Glock chamber must be.
