BPiatt Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Does anyone have ANY info on the 2006 World AP Match in Sydney Australia? Or the Kiwi Cup for that matter. I was under the impression that these two matches would be run back to back weekends. Dates? Locations? Match official email address? Travel/Lodging Info? Firearm Travel Permits? Thanks in advance. gm iprod Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Bruse, I will check on this. But as I understand it, New Zealand will be holding it's Nationals one month before the World Shoot, the Kiwi Cup (Hamilton Pistol Club owns this shoot) was going to be held at the same time, this is not the original plan, and unlikely to be the final plan. No one other than Hamilton PC has put their hand up for the Nationals so they did not want to have two big matches that close together. As I said I will check and finalise some dates for you.
goldfieldshooter Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Bruce I had individual entries e-mailed to me today. The web site is www.bpc.com.au Robyn Ginger is the one to contact
gm iprod Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Bruce, Looks like our Nationals are going to be Sept 23rd and 24th. About 4 weeks before the Worlds. This unfortunately is a little to early for anyone from the US to use the match as preparation. UNLESS you have a good relationship with your employer and or wife to arrange a nice five week break to shoot lots. I am sure we could fit some trout fishing and some deer scaring in as well for anyone who is real lucky.

Yeah, jump across that small body of water after you have scared some deer, and we can scare some roos as well ..... always plenty of time for that.
Phil Dunlop Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 . I am sure we could fit some trout fishing and some deer scaring in as well for anyone who is real lucky. I already scared them all, they'll be shaking till September at least!
gm iprod Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Phil, Have not heard from you in a while. How's it all going?? Karl, Harry and I are up here in Columbia shooring the Bianchi. Start Wednesday US time. RM
Phil Dunlop Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 All the best GM, i've been a little behind the 8 ball for too long, split the barrel on my 40 at the nationals then the usual stuff, parenting, work, etc. took the last of my spare time. Give my best to the boys up there, will head out of this valley soon before i go mad and catch up with you all at APC regards P.D.
goldfieldshooter Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 ok The world AP champs is only 2 months away. In NZ we have had team selection shoots and the filling in of numerous forms and documents.(It actually took longer for the paperwork that it takes me to fly to Sydney) We have hotels ,cars etc booked BUT we are missing one vital piece of info. Who is going to be at Sydney for the shoot? We haven't heard a peep from any of the other shooters worldwide. I hope its not just us and the Aussies. We can shoot agains't each other anytime but to get other shooters from Europe, the States and elswhere really makes the event special. You don't have to be in a team, you can enter as an individual (as I did for my first two) and you will see many familiar faces and be made to feel right at home. So come on you AP shooters, come and see us for a change and I might come and see y'all in May. The hard luck story of the shoot so far; I am rooming with gm iprod. Still I can sleep with earmuffs on. The Dillon ones are very comfortable. Goldfieldshooter
Action Pistolero Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Coatsey, I'm working on it. I'm expecting my passport any day now. Hopefully I can get all the paperwork filled out and approved by the end of Oct. I have been hearing horror stories about shooters trying to get their ammo over there. I have a plan but since I know nothing about how things work there maybe you can shed some light. I'll take my match ammo on the plane. Speaking of which, do I need that ammo import form for that ammo also? The problem as I see it is ammo for practice. I shoot a 9x23 so getting ammo there is out of the question. My plan was to bring 500 bullets and cases. Then find powder, primers and a loader. The other question is how hard would it be to purchase WST and some primers? I'm assuming that I can posess the cases and bullets with out any problems. From what I hear, Mike Flagler, Chuck Thomey, Helen Jeavons, Jay Della Bella, Doug Koenig and Vera Koo are working on getting there. Now it's your turn. I'm assuming we will see you in Columbia next year. In case you haven't heard we now have almost all of the prone back and a new target. Well, let me rephraise that. It passed the A/P comm. It probably won't be official until Jan. Kevin
goldfieldshooter Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Hi Kevin Great to hear from you. The person to answer your ammo questions would be Robyn Ginger and you can contact her on the Blacktown Pistol Club web site. www.bpc.com.au It is a nightmare carting firearms and ammo around the world now and probably won't get any easier. If you are going to reload it would pay to take your own dies or tool head with you. One reason us kiwis have a reloader stored in Columbia. It will be great to catch up with you guys again and yes I am coming for the BC next year. By the sound of it half of New Zealand is going to be there. I have heard rumours about the prone and new target but not the details. Prone shooting? mmmmm I remember! that was the good old days! Look forward to seeing you soon Coatesy

Kevin AP...... 9x23 brass is available in Australia, and a good selection of Primers, but WST is a bit scarce - there is plenty of Bullseye around (and no shortage of Bullsh!t) ! If you go to the trouble of taking brass... then take a set of dies. They may be only thing that would slow you down ! Email Craig Ginger.... he will have a good idea of what is readily available in the area. I think his address is on the Blacktown Pistol Club website.
Action Pistolero Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Service Desk, Thanks for the reply. As of now I am hoping that I can get the ammo loaded there or buy the stuff and load it myself. It appears that even bringing components in is a PITA. Coatesy, Where are you and Richard staying? I was thinking about the Holiday Inn. Thanks to a shooter for giving me a swift kick in the rear things are coming along. I have the passport, Visa, and plane reservations. Sent my entries in today. Waiting on the invitation so that I can fax in my shooting permit. With a little luck I hope to have everything sent in by Monday. I haven't travelled overseas in twenty years since I got out of the Navy. After I got out I said that I would never do it again and here I am doing it. No offense guys, but I don't see how you guys do it. I've been to some great places around the world and some cess pools. There is one thing that comes crystal clear as far as your rights and freedoms go there is no place like the US. Please don't take this as a rub. I am merely reminding some Americans how good we have it. Kevin

gm iprod Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Kevin, The entire NZ team is staying at the Holiday Inn, I would suggest you do the same, they have safes in the rooms. This is easier than leaving the handguns at the club. email them reservations@holidayinnpenrithpanthers.com.au See you there.
