DJPoLo Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 While discussing this news story at work today, my boss came across this site.. Just goes to prove that the World Wide Web offers something for everyone, doesn't it? -Chet
Nolan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Also proves there are plenty of people with more money than brains or at least good driving skills. Another equally sad website Cars in Barns Sniff Nolan
TriggerT Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 So you think the insurance company will cover a car that was wrecked while the driver was doing 200 MPH on a public highway? I guess if you can afford one in the first place, you can afford to replace one after you crash it.
carinab Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Both of these links are headed to my husband....Sometimes, a wrecked car is the only place to find oddball replacement parts (like speaker amps) - or - a lost super car, the cheetah. Thanks for the links!
GTOSHootr Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 (edited) Those are awsome sites. I have a stack of photos on my desk my father gave me to scan and I think I'll submit some to the Car in Barns site. I'll post a link here too. Sadly, I have some for the Wrecked Exotic site too. My brother spun my father's Viper into a chain link fence. That didn't go over well. Edited February 23, 2006 by GTOSHootr
GTOSHootr Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Cars in Barns: Can anyone id the old motorcycle? The blue Vette and the Superbird made their way home to our shop.
Nolan Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 The motorcycle looks European 1950-1954. Engine really looks like a Sachs 2-stroke from the teardrop shaped side covers and the large cylinder/head, probably 175-250cc. The gas tank really looks like a Zundapp or DKW or NSU. It may also be a Gilera (they made the Sears Allstate motorcycles). I'll dig out my old classic motorcycles books. Nolan
Bruce Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 My brother went to a track day a few years back, guy in front of him put a new 911tt into the wall (and several other places) *hard*. Got out and said something like "that was stupid...oh well". To some, money comes in bundles it seems.
calhunter Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Here are the pictures, (I hope) happened just south of me on PCH. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-ferra...adlines&index=2
