I recently learned that Safariland does not make the 773 Mag Pouch to fit the Large Framed EAA/CZ's. A customer called me after buying them for a "Gold Team," and told me he had to remove the plastic roller (and replace it with tape to keep from scratching the mag) from the bottom adjustment screw to make the mags fit. Lately I've had a run on these pouches for various EAA/CZ's, so can anyone tell me which models of EAA/CZ's are "Large Frame"?

Two that I know of:

EAA Gold Team 38 super

CZ75 Tactical Sport 40 S&W (Just learned that one today)

... are there any more?

Thanks,

I think the full-size are:

Witness Gold Team

Witness Limited

Witness Stock

Witness P (polymer) Full Size

Witness (Steel) Full Size

The others are compact models.

The Safariland 771 mag pouch works fine for me, I have a EAA/Tanfoglio Gold Team in .38 Super. The same pouches also work for my STI/SVI mags.

You probably already know this, just adding it in case someone else reads this.

The CZ Tactical Sport and IPSC Standard use the same mags and are basically the same gun. These pistols are both mid-wides. They aren't as wide as the CZ 97s in .45 ACP but they're wider than CZ 75s. My TS mags average 0.863" wide by 1.272" deep.

I'm using small frame Glock 771s for my CZ TS with no problems, but my Kydex Glock pouches don't hold the TS mags very snuggly.

Thanks. Is the "IPSC Standard" the same thing as the "Gold Team 38 Super"?

Well, I think you're really asking are the mags the same size and I don't think so, but I haven't held a Gold Team in 10 years so I don't know for sure. The larger frame EAAs are a different size, but I'm not sure what they compare most closely to. Maybe someone can post the magazine dimensions for the Gold Team, but I don't own one.

I'll post the dimensions for the magazines tonight when I get home.

Overall length (measured down spine of magazine)..... 4 7/8" (14.4cm)

Depth (front to back).... 1 3/8" (3.4 cm)

Width (left to right).... 7/8" (2.2 cm)

Hi BE....in reply to IPSC Standard and CZ Tactical Sport.........the IPSC Standard was CZ's SA .40 Standard (similar to a custom Limited div gun), the updated version (change to fixed rear sight and a slide that doesn't batter the frame so much) is called the CZ Tactical Sport and I believe besides coming in .40 it also comes in 9mm.....comes from the factory with a real sweet 2 lb trigger and all the bells and whistles for about half the price of an STI or SV

BritinUSA,

Thanks for the offer to measure the mags, but if you haven't done it - no worries. I've contacted Safariland and EAA, and EAA should have some mags in route to Safariland so they can make 773 pouches that will fit them.

According to Henning, All EAA's Witness guns are now "large frame":

Witness Elite Series

Elite Gold Team (Eric model) Open gun

Elite Limited (.40 limited class)

Elite Stock (9mm production typically)

Elite Match (the biggest seller - single action)

Witness Compact

Witness Full Size

Witness P Carry

Witness P Full Size

Witness P Compact

Witness Hunter

That new was a real shocker to me, and will drastically affect Safariland's mag pouch sales.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

If it really just that easy, Safariland should make 771/3s for CZ TS and IPSC pistols. I guess someone from CZ USA needs to send Safariland some mags...
