DJPoLo
I saw "Open Water" today.Definitely a downer. After the trauma that "Jaws" did to me when I was 11, I refuse to see "Open Water". -Chet

ErikW
I just watched Bully on IFC. Sort of like Rivers Edge, a true crime story about America's lost/wasted/useless youth. Downer city.
Putty
Do movies that honor and applaud infidelity as their main theme in hopes that everyone buys off on said happy ending, count? IF so, my vote is for Bridges of Madison County. Dumberer book ever was written.
Sixgun
Blackhawk Down. It just makes me angry to think how our soldiers were hung out to dry. I get mad / sad just thinking about the title. Ray
rhino
Yeah, Blackhawk Down is a downer movie, but it's such a great film that I will continue to watch it several times a year. There are many lessons to be learned from it, both political and tactical!
BigDave
Leaving Las Vegas with Nicholas Cage and Elisabeth Shue was not a happy film. Big Fish with William Boone and Albert Finney was good, but depressing. Stand By Me was not an uplifting film. American Beauty was great, but also not what I'd call a happy film. jessej
I got a downer for ya'll. I borrowed it from a friend last night, now I remember why I forgot the movie. "A Simple Plan"
rhino
Wll said, Rhino. Maybe I should watch it again. Thanks! It's also a good reminder that we must never let anyone who is even remotely like the "leader" we had then get into the same position in the future. Like his wife. Never forget! ErikW
I watched Gummo (one of Brian's movies). WTF? No plot, no narrative. Not my cup of tea. Brian, did you like it because it reminded you of Ohio?
