splashdown
What's your favorite aftermarket Glock mag release? I'm planning on using my G35 in Limited. What are you using and do you like it. So far I have found the one on Top Glock and JP. thanks splashdown
cpty1
Got a couple of really good, but less known (at least for now) releases here: http://www.cpwsa.com/Glock%20Parts.htm and http://www.cpwsa.com/s_&_j_customs.htm
Sean Gaines
For my grip, cant use them, I wind up squeezing the gun too hard with weak hand and mags keep comming out. the best one is the factory glock mag release, the long one that comes with the g34/
jhgtyre
I really like the one that JP sells. JP's Homepage When I used it in conjunction with a brass magwell from Glockmeister it didn't cause me any problems with table starts nor did I hit it by accident while shooting. -ld
ryucasta
I have had good results with the following releases and would recommend them without hesitation G17 sized frames 1. JP Enterprise (USPSA/IPSC Limited Open) 2. Glock G20/G34 Factory Release (IDPA all divisions) G20 sized frames 1. Lone Wolf Distributors Extended (USPSA/IPSC Limited Open; IDPA All Divisions) BTW, I have tried just about all of them and quite a few are in the never used parts box. splashdown
Ryucasta, Have you tried the one from Top Glock? You know, the one that comes in alum or brass and has two long little screws that hold it down. That's the one I was leaning towards, but then I re-read the JP and I see it's serrated so the extension locks onto the main part of the mag release. I think I like that. ryucasta
I've tried it and prefer JP Enterprise. BTW I noticed that you are with Team NHO I believe Tom uses the same pad as the JP.
splashdown
I think you're right. I think I've seen the JP on his website somewhere. Yeah Tom did my Beretta more than 3 years ago when I joined the team. He worked on my glock as well. thanks splash
open17
Anyone tried the round one from Lone Wolf? Looks like it requires some sort of jig and punch setup to prep the frame for it. What is supposed to be the advantage?
ryucasta
I'm using the Lone Wolf Extended for a G20 sized frame. It has the same feel to it that you would find with a factory G20 release in a G17 frame. Edited February 13, 2006 by ryucasta
Sidewinder6
Any recommendations for a G19? How would a Mag Release effect IDPA SSP?
ryucasta
If memory serves me correctly an extended magazine release shouldnt be an issue in the SSP division as long as its an original Glock part (I.e. G20/21 release in the G19 frame).
TimWarner
I prefer the JP. Tried the SJC, but shooting off hand it REALLY hurts the middle finger. Shooting off hand with my major9 G17... I almost felt like I had broken my finger the first shot.

I love the JP on the 21 due to the thickness of the grip the tear drop shape is great how it angles back. My open 9 has the SJC, and while do not have as much experience with it, it is a large target to hit and I don't have any issues with it yet. Glockster35
Guys, I have very short thumbs, and I do have major problems reaching the mag release on my G35 (extended already). What mag release comes the furthest back, yet does not cause problems with table tops starts and other accidental release situations?

JThompson
For my grip, cant use them, I wind up squeezing the gun too hard with weak hand and mags keep comming out. the best one is the factory glock mag release, the long one that comes with the g34/35 I moved the position of the release and increased the spring pressure and I haven't had a problem since. I was dropping them out too. Nothing worse than getting that great draw only to have the mag drop free during present.

Pclark832
I like the T.H.E. mag release. I use it on my Glock 35. shooting L10 and Limited. http://www.glockworld.com/competition.htm#extmag Edited June 6, 2007 by Pclark832
D. Manley
There's a new version that should be available June 15th that has some good points...longer than stock, not quite as long as OEM extended, nicely shaped. jbullgpd
I like the T.H.E. mag release. I use it on my Glock 35. shooting L10 and Limited. http://www.glockworld.com/competition.htm#extmag I got T.H.E. mag release as well and like it. I have one on my 35 and 21. Slightly off topic, I know several people carry T.H.E. accessories but who actually makes them? in other words how do I contact the source? I'm starting up my own gun biz and would like to distribute there stuff. Any direction would help, thx.
Glockster35
T.H.E. used to have a website I think, but I cannot locate it now. Matt at CGR (custom Glock Racing) would probably be the best POC for them, because he has been carrying their stuff since they began!
TKJ
not aftermarket, done it myself from factory extented part and aluminum bar.
Turbo23
I have THE MAG release on a limited 35 also.... as of late I started to increase my left hand pressure and now I am dropping them out like crazy! But I have large hands, so maybe it could work for you.
