Dillon Aero M134d

Isn't there a video, an MPEG, somewhere here on this here cyber web of that thing in action.

I swear I saw it once. I think it was attached to the side of a Huey, and the door gunner was really blasting some stuff with those tracers, out in the desert.

Anybody know where that video is, URL please?

I almost did that back at da Zoo. Seems an active duty fighter squadron had given a Vulcan machine gun to one of the cadet squadrons. And they had it mounted on one of their walls.

Well, spring break of my senior year, I hit a deer with my Saab, while zipping through Utah on the way to a GF's parent's house in Cali

(Wow, that was a run on, rambling sentence, sorry.)

The freshman took the 20mm canon as part of a spirit mission and it ended up back in our squadron. I almost told them to take it down to the parking lot, so I could get a picture of it sitting on my mashed in hood.

But with so few days left to graduation and commissioning I decided against that idea.

I was gonna call it the S.U.A.V. The Swedish Urban Assault Vehicle.

W/ the sunroof open I could imagine a gunner manning a Ma Deuce on a roof mounted pintle, ya know, to cover the backside during ingress and egress into hostile territory.

Remember that movie Stripes, w/ Bill Murray? Remember how they "borrowed" that assault RV? Well, the SUAV would have been the perfect vehicle to tow behind that RV.

Yep, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems getting the slow pokes to move out of the left lane with a 20 mike mike or the Dillon Aero mounted on your bumper.

Would that be considered "brandishing"?

I found that video.

Clickety click this:

It does have an Active X control and give it a little while to load before hitting the play button.

Makes the hair stand up on my neck watching that vid.

Wow!!!! If Nolan had that on his website, it would certainly get a hoser warning.

Don't know why they call it the Apache Gattling gun at the top of that link. I think the Apache uses a 30 mm three barreled canon.

Mnn..nn.. I'll take the Dillon Aero over the M2 .50 anyday mounted on the back of my SUAV.

In a related subject, Barret, the makers of the well know .50 BMG sniper rifles, is working on a new sniper rifle chambered, IIRC, the 20 mm round. A recoiling barrel, like on their .50's and a muzzle brake make the pounding to the shoulder manageable.

And not to be gruesome or anything, but what I had heard about some of those rounds on a tank or APC is that it'll zip right on through. It goes so fast that on the way out it creates a vacuum strong enough that it tries to suck the occupants through the exit hole. That and spraying molten steel fragments make it effective at "neutralizing" targets.

Oh and strangley enough, the GF's dad worked as a nuclear safety guy at Lawerence Livermoore Labs. The grandfather had an academic building named after him at Berkely.

Here's another pic.

Maybe Dillon's Blue Press folks would think she is hot enough to put on the cover of their magazine/catalog, or in the calendar maybe. A salute to our warfighters, maybe, give a patriotic feel to it.

Don't know if she is the door gunner, or what?post-5475-1139346910_thumb.jpg

Most of the streaming Windows Media Player stuff can be downloaded. Just right click and go to properties which will list the address of the file, that's how I got the link above. Once it launches Media Player, just do a save as.

Anyone know if Dillon Aero is hiring a mechanical engineer? I'm a hands on kind of engineer. :D
