mikegot38
John: Is it true that the payouts will no longer be by USPSA classes--GM-M-A-B-C-D??
john soltesz
The payout this year will be by the lewis system in each gun class. Last year year we had a few problems with competitors signing up for lower classes than they should have and then had a lot of trouble trying to move them to a higher class. the problem with using uspsa classes is that static steel really doesnt compare. We have seen older shooters who really can't move to comfortablly any longer win their class because they were able to shoot in a lower class do too uspsa classes. In the near future soon after this years match we are going to try and put a classification system in place which we are working on now based on 4 stages of the speed on steel match. These 4 stages will always be part of the main match and used monthly to assertain a shooters class.cards will be issued to the competitors and based on your thoughts ( the entrants) we will use that in the future. Classes will be m,a,b,c,d.......at that time no gm.... hope this answers your question, if not let me know and i will get you what you need...... regards john oh if you have'nt or want to be in our data base for events,, send us name addresss amd email....... "speed and attitude" Since you are not classifying shooters by GM/M,A,B,C and D USPSA classifications, how is STI going to do their awards assuming the shooter is part of their Contingency Program, shoots an STI frame and wears an STI shirt. (In other words, what are the tiers subject to the Contingency Program??)
john soltesz
The STI Contingency program will be based on gun class, open auto and iron auto will be included the program. Payout will be based upon high gold, high silver and high bronze in both classes for a total of 6 awards. The shooter will need to put the information regarding participation on their apps or at check in. The Lewis system is being used this year. Hope this helps answer your questions. Recently a gentleman from Utah flew into Newark and spent several days in jail because he (pursuant to TSA Rules) declared his firearm that he was taking to PA. He has sued and is represented by Evan Nappen, Esquire. Fly into Philly and do not bring mags that can hold in excess of 15 rounds as they are illegal in N.J. MPG,Esq. Jim Norman
It is 10PM on Sunday Night. John, John, Matt, Chris and a host of others are now hopefully enjoying a well earned rest. Shooters from Virginia to Canada and Ohio a well as more than a few from somewhat closer places enjoyed 7 stages of static steel on Friday and Saturday and 7 more stages of fun side matches on Sunday. Actually on Sunday you could have shot up to 14 different guns! There was the following array to choose from: Three 5 shot Shotgun Speed Shoots (3 starts, counted as one combined run) One Knockdown Steel with shotgun, (28 targets) One Center-fire Pistol Speed shoot (5 plates-4 runs) One Center-fire Pistol Knockdown Steel (28 targets) One Rimfire Pistol peed Shoot (5 plates-4 runs) One Rimfire Rifle Knockdown Steel (28 targets) One 4 target ringer steel for .223 (4 runs) If you add it up and you shot Open and Limited in each there were opportunities to shoot 14 stages and that is if you only shot each stage once! Many people shot far more times! If you missed this match you missed one of the best matches of the year. There were 14 guns awarded as well as a truckload of other prizes and that doesn't count the actual prize money that will be awarded to the winners. I spent the better part of three days a either an RO or a competitor and the occasional Mr. Fix-It and although I am beat, I know I will definitely be back again next year! I suggest that you watch the web for announcements for upcoming matches! You will not be disappointed. John, John, Matt, Chris and everyone else, THANK YOU! pmd
Agreed, It was a fun match and it appeared lots of prizes were given away - as a matter of fact I think I was probably the only competitior that did not win any of the prizes Although I did get to see a flying tent - I hope the guy's car it hit wasn't damaged too bad. Pistol side matches were fun and fast - next year I'll bring the longs. Thanks to all who made it happen. Paul
