straightshooter1
I finally got a new Dillon powder measure. All of the others I own are the real old type with the two springs. Much to my surprise, Dillon has apparently changed the system for taking off the rod and uses a clip now (which is why I never liked the "new" ones as it was a pain to take the unit off compared to the old style). I have read here and on other forums that the new system works better if one adds the springs like the old ones have. I have three questions: Is that true (that the new measures work better (more reliably?) with springs. and, if so, Where do you find springs? Does Dillon sell them or...? lastly, Do you put two on like the old units or...? Thanks, Bob
.40AET
Do you put two on like the old units or...? Yes. The part number for the springs is 14036. FWIW...I think that the powder measure works a lot smoother with the springs. The rod is supposed to be more foolproof.
John Dunn
Do a search for Dillon powder measure retrograde, that should produce a thread by Wesselman that clears up everything. I miss the various Eric/ks, Rhino, etc.

straightshooter1
Thanks a lot. I think I understand it and actually can do it myself. Big talk from a really mechanically challenged guy, but I will try it. Thanks again, Bob
