Thanks, Stuart. Any additional input would be appreciated as I plan to buy the gun tomorrow if it will fly for CDP. As another question... How bout the legality of the gun for the new USPSA SS division?
Greg Jones
I've never seen anything in the rules that would make a rib illegal in IDPA or the new SS division, as long as it meets the CDP weight requirement. I have a 10mm Dan Wesson with a rib that I have used before in ESP.
Cjblackmon
For CDP, that gun is legal. The main concerns is that it fits in the box, does not have an extended dust cover, and weighs no more than 41 oz.
Ted Murphy
THe rules do prohibit add on ribs like the bo-mar. The picture looks to me like it's some kind of milling, like flat topping a slide but with more definition. That would be okay. From the rule book: 1. Non-IDPA-Legal Modifications for ALL Divisions The following modifications are NOT ALLOWED IN ANY DIVISION unless otherwise specifically mentioned. A. Compensators of any type including hybrid or ported barrels. B. Add-on weights for a competitive advantage (this includes, but is not limited to, weighted magazines, tungsten guide rods, brass magazine wells, weighted grips). C. Heavy and/or cone style barrels without a barrel bushing. D. Sights of non-standard configuration (i.e. Ghost rings, Bo-Mar rib, etc.).
