Olebuzzard
Is the scoring too complicated to explain here? When does timing start and stop?
JakeMartens
Not sure what answer you are looking for but the timer starts at the beep and ends with the last shots fired IDPA is actually very easy to score it is your time added to your down points converted to time which is a .5 second for each down point example is you shot a course of fire in 19.5 seconds and went down 10 points time = 19.5 down = 10 x .5 = 5 19.5 + 5 = 24.5 and that is your score for the stage hope that clears it up check www.idpa.com they go over there pretty good
Tangram
The rule book section on the IDPA site answers the question. If you have not already done so you may find it useful to check out the separate classifier pages and PDFs. http://www.idpa.com/
ima45dv8
Actually, it's very simple. Each string is timed, beginning with the start signal from the timer which results from the SO pushing the right button, and ends with the last shot fired. The time for each string is recorded and the next string is fired. Rinse and repeat until done. Insert a toothpick and if it comes out dry, you're finished. Points down on your targets are scored and totaled. All of the times you fired are added together, with a penalty of 1/2 second for each point you dropped on your targets. The total of your raw times plus the penalties is your score for the classifier.
Neil Casper
All of the above are correct. It's one of those things that is really easier then it sounds. If you saw it done once you would understand right away.
