jhgtyre
And all this time I thought "zero" meant point blank range. No wonder I couldn't hit anything! -ld
gotm4
If you don't have a 50yd range to use for a zero, zero about 1" low at 25yds. They check at 50yds when you get the time/opportunity. It's a good zero to about 200-250yds (depending on barrel length/velocity). It usually yeilds a flatter zero where the bullet is no more than 2.5" high or low out to 200yds. McNeil
I'm kinda new to this fine tuning of Zero. I still try to use factory ammo, I shoot alot of 223 and buy large quantities at a decent price. Today trying to zero at 200, couldn't get a better group than 5" using a 5 power standard reticle scope, but at 100 yards, 3/4" group in a 2" paster. I just built a JP upper with an 18"- 1/8 twist barrel and I am trying the ammo that I have alot of right now which is S+B 55 gr. Next I will try the Eagle 62 gr. Should work better in that twist, right? with the S+B it shot flat between 100 and 200. I was puzzled. -Neil
