keeph8n Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Wanted to get some of you more seasoned competitors opinions. I started shooting about 4-5 months ago competitively, roughly 20 matches in that time, and my 2025 season is looking to be at least 4 matches a month. I would like to check out what a big match like Racegun nationals is like, as I’m an open shooter, but as someone who is new and never been to something larger than a level II match, is it worth it? Do competitors of all skill levels show up for the big majors or just those in A or above?
2MoreChains Posted November 28 Posted November 28 All levels of shooters will be at Nats. You’ll have a great time. It’s like any other big match, you’ll shoot 6-ish stages a day over a 3-day period in an AM/PM/AM or PM/AM/PM format. Only difference is in your head that you’re at Nationals. SUPS is a great range and I’m really happy that Nats is going back there. St. George and Hurricane are great towns, plenty of hotels and restaurants. And October is a great time to go to Southern Utah.
Zachjet Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I’ve never shot a nationals, but I did a few Lvl 2/3 my first year shooting ..Don’t over think it, If you want to go,then go and have some fun.
davsco Posted Sunday at 07:38 PM Posted Sunday at 07:38 PM what i enjoyed about limited nat's in frostproof florida a while back was splitting the stages into three days. 10-11-12 stages in one day (like state or area matches) gets to be a bit much for me.
