CMC Trigger issue

Recommended Posts

At a Match last week, when shooting I would experience the trigger lock as if it was on safe. This happened several times. Seems like the disconnector is not catching the hammer and I’m assuming this is the issue. But I have no idea the inner workings of the trigger group. Please advise.

CMC will fix it...downside to cassette triggers...cant work on it without voiding warranty, etc.

Either way, I have had two fail...switched out to Hiperfire and been gtg.

Thanks I’ll look into that. But what I need clarification is on, whether the trigger is supposed to be retained by the disconnector.

No. It is not supposed to hold it indefinitely, only briefly until the sear/hammer/trigger engage.

Your video is dark so its hard to see what is going on.

I have close to 6000 rounds through my PCC with the CMC trigger without issue.  Prior to that, I used a Hyperfire and had an issue with the hammer delaying to release.  I believe this happened due to blow back build up on the spring struts.  To clarify, I pulled the trigger, nothing happened and then the gun went off a second or two later.  In full disclosure I had fired several hundred rounds suppressed in addition to 700-800 rounds of unsuppressed rounds.  Maybe it was a freak occurrence but it did happen.  This was a 24 3G trigger which I have moved over to a standard AR.  I like the Hyperfire but don't trust it in a PCC due to this experience.

had a primer back out into the cmc trigger group on my AR at a 3 gun match years ago.  couldn't figure it out till I got home to clean it.  look under the trigger bar at the front left-there is a primer.  stopped the whole thing and killed a stage.

Wow, that's something to look out for.  I suppose that can happen with any FCG.  When I'm seating primers, if it feels too loose I've learned I can typically press the primer back out by hand with a push pen.
