SIGcurious
I was curious how many of you shooting center fire use mag pouches on the belt vs. just using a bag/mags next to you on the table. Thanks.
Matt1911
If I’m shooting centerfire, I’ll use my USPSA setup and utilize the mag pouches so it’s less to carry off the line.
GKB
I have the rifle and rimfire pistol magazines on the table, centerfire pistol magazines (and revolver moonclips) on the belt Mostly because my belt with a holster has magazine holders, so I might as well use them. zzt
Mags always on the table. I bring 6 mags with 10 rounds each up in a pouch for everything except RFRO. I put 3 Doublekross mags on the table.
blackss06
Centerfire mags on belt for me. Every once in awhile I’ll put them on the table for smoke and hope, just depends how I’m feeling.
Hoops
Personal preference. I no longer want to lug the weight around. Gun in bag and mags on table for me. I’m organized so no delays at make ready and in between strings.
warpspeed
I was taught to use a bag for SC so I do.
DrewM
I do mags in a case, 5 mags/10rnds each. I’m about to bag the gun as well, carrying around a heavy steel gun in the Fl tropics for the match is getting old.

Squirrel45 Posted yesterday at 12:24 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:24 AM (edited) On belt, once I'm set I don't want to move and reset every time. Edited yesterday at 12:29 AM by Squirrel45

What do you do with them once a sting is done ? Put them back on your belt or ?

GKB Posted yesterday at 12:35 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:35 PM 9 hours ago, warpspeed said: What do you do with them once a sting is done ? Put them back on your belt or ? It's not too complicated. You put the one out of your pistol into the empty holder on your belt and then reach your now empty hand to the next mag in line to load your pistol. Repeat. Yeti Posted yesterday at 02:15 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:15 PM Mag pouches...USPSA rig for centerfire. I'll add on a dump pouch sometimes, but usually I forget to bring it.
DrewM Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM 13 hours ago, zzt said: You are daring. I bring six mags, just in case. I should bring an extra magazine or two and put in the cart of junk...but honestly if I had a magazine failure in a match, I'd just load up the remaining mags heavier - I could be loading them up to 20+rnds (technically a rule violation as I've been shooting CO, but nobody at a local match is counting), but I like the 10 and change every string...and if I go over 10 rounds in a string, I may as well just throw the empty magazine at the plate as that string is a train wreck already. I do see a lot of folks do the USPSA rig thing, that's probably the 'norm' around here for folks shooting centerfire pistol classes, but I'm lazy and want less weight on my body. shred Posted yesterday at 03:18 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:18 PM Mags on belt in USPSA rig. 3 with ~18 in each. Start from the back and swap every other string. Swap early if some string is a disaster.
PeterParfinik Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM I used to do the belt, now I use the table for both rim fire and center fire. I keep my mags facing forward when they are full and just turn them around after they have been used for a string. try it both ways and see what works for you. I have a cheaper one than this that has lasted for quite a number of years without the removable carry strap, its a very inexpensive option to give a try. DrewM Posted yesterday at 04:54 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:54 PM Mine is similar - https://amzn.to/4dl4Z7e I put the loaded mags in, just dump the empty magazines on the other size when it's open, close it up when I'm done and I'm out of the box in just a few seconds. Joe4d
I shoot a 22/45 or a 617. Still load from the belt. Either speedloader holders or mag pouches
